Wouldn't it be nice if ...

... someone invented an apple-F (ctrl-F to you PC users) for the real world?

So does this mean that in Strayland no file goes unfound? No picture committed to that great archive at the back end of Drive C: - forever lost, until you stumble on it when you don't need it?

In my real world things have a proper place and so never get lost, ish.

Perhaps you have to RFID tag all your stuff, and possibly some of your chums too.

That would be brilliant.

You created one of those widgity things to help people search for Adam, so I reckon you could actually sort this problem yourself. I eagerly await you solving this and then you can move on to explaining the meaning of life. No pressure.

Yes and no - because that would open the way for the likes of ctrl x, ctrl c and ctrl v in the real world, the implications of which would be extremely worrying.

Dad to son: you CAN'T just cut and paste reality like that!

I have often said how great a Control Z function on real life would.

Woke up next to someone dreadful? Ctrl Z

Dropped car keys down a drain? Ctrl Z

Said something really stupid? Ctrl Z.

I want Ctrl Z. I really really do! it would be SO awesome. Letters that I sent out with spelling (or, worse) grammar mistakes would come winging back in! and how about ctrl B? I could make myself Bold or underline my words (without shouting)
ah
for the simple life!

Bobo darling, you're right - I rarely lose a file but am fairly likely to have mislaid my passport :)

RR - your faith in me is touching! No pressure indeed. I will be tackling this problem right after I've finished my cloning machine - time machine hybrid, which not only allows me to duplicate myself to get more done, but also magically manufacture extra hours in order to meet deadlines.

trousers - Ah. See above.

Misssy M - indeed! My question is whether you'd want a global or object-specific undo stack. Hmm. (Apologies, I am working a lot with this stuff at the moment ... don't worry .. people pay me, it's not just for fun).

Ms Pants ! Gosh - yes, I suspect it already does.

Jon - bless. Can I send you to lovely Ms Melancholy for some therapy? Darling, there are people who would say that if you can't use the product then it's badly designed ...

Ms Tickle - congratumalations! I am way more pleased for you than if you'd just had a baby :) Any problems, you know where I am.

PSB - I hadn't considered Ctrl-B ... and the possible ramifications. Wow. Would we define such mood-swings using a global CSS?
